Spirit of the Heart Kids February Vacation Camp
Kids learn invaluable life lessons of communication, boundary setting and respecting, and non-verbal, verbal and physical self-defense techniques.
We play cooperative games which foster positive social skills and self-esteem through equal involvement for all.
Kids get to express themselves through the Indonesian martial art of Pukulan which encourages free movements of four animals: the monkey, snake, crane and tiger.
We explore the worlds of the four animals to learn about being grounded, playful, coordinated, fast, balanced, fluid, intense and creative.
Kids have free play time to build friendships and relax into an unstructured flow.
We do art projects based on various themes. Some themes may include: each animal and its unique quality, community, positive affirmations, peace, mind-body-spirit, etc.
Kids get outside weather permitting.
We work together to build a respectful and caring learning and playing environment. We have buddies each day and help each other with learning and becoming a part of the spirit of the heart community.
